Intro to Clear Vision Health--

The Greater Eau Claire Community will be a model for communitywide wellness and care with an emphasis on personal accountability and inclusive access to world-class mental, physical and dental care.

The Clear Vision Health KPA’s vision and objectives were discussed with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Committee.  The committee decided to embark on a project, that aligns with, and helps fulfill one component of the vision: to secure a “Well Community” designation.  Work to create this designation has been progressing over the past six months within the Chamber committee, and is reported on at the Clear Vision Implementation Committee.  In addition, we are monitoring a pilot project with a local elementary school to bring in information and teaching on health, wellness and healthcare careers.  When the pilot is completed in summer 2010, we will work to enlist other area businesses to develop similar outreach to area schools.

The current national health care reform effort suggests prudency of a “wait and see” attitude for many areas of potential work by a community health committee.  Also, the original Health KPA group did not stay connected once the visionary process and associated commitments ended.  Currently, there is no Clear Vision Health group that meets on a regular basis.

Clear Vision Health related projects and work groups are currently being encouraged and sought.  Becky Swanson and Ann Rupnow will help to:

  • provide guidance to Clear Vision Health related efforts
  • ensure connectivity with the overall, and Health specific Clear Vision initiative
  • promote the work and accomplishments through the Clear Vision communication channels

In addition, assistance with the creation and maintenance of a Clear Vision Health website is desired, as this would provide a central place for useful information gathering and sharing, and promote alignment of Health efforts across the greater Eau Claire Community.
