Established an educational coalition group which meets monthly to plan and assist in implementing the Clear Vision KPA action plan activities.
Planned and successfully hosted a community education gathering which was attended by approximately 65 individuals representing a broad base of backgrounds. This group identified the following priorities for future improvement plans.
1. Foster active parent involvement in each child’s education
2. Create business/school partnerships
3. Expand school access to the community
4. Expand non-profit/individual collaboration in K-12 education
5. Increase the numbers and diversity of volunteers in schools
6. Increase student/faculty connections with the larger community
7. Refine and more clearly define educational outcomes
Developed a plan to promote literacy and volunteerism in K-12 schools.
Submitted grants for funding purchases of books which will be distributed to all first and second grade students in public and non-public schools in Eau Claire.
Identified improvement of K-12 education’s public image in Eau Claire County as a priority to be addressed in collaboration with the public schools.
Obtained commitment from a diversity of individuals and organizations to collaborate on a literacy and volunteers in schools project.
Initiated planning aimed at organizing a method for creating school/business partnerships.
